"Long-term Changing of Attitudes and Beliefs of Women Accessing Services"
Center Highlights:
The St. Barnabas National Community Center of Excellence in Women's Health, along with its team of partners within their consortium, worked collaboratively to develop an integrated, culturally and linguistically sensitive, accessible health services delivery system for women throughout their life span. This CCOE services Latina and Black women living in the Bronx.
"Increase the women's health knowledge base using community-based research that involves the community in identifying research areas that address the health needs, and respond to, issues of concern to underserved women is a major goal of the National Community Centers of Excellence in Women's Health Program."
St. Barnabas plans to:

Maximize the quality of life of members of its community through education, screening, and prevention programs for diagnosis and treatment of cancer, heart disease, and HIV/AIDS.

Provide and coordinate cost-effective state-of-the-art screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

Enlist physicians and health care providers to participate in screening, prevention, and education/outreach programs.

Provide community outreach for education and screening programs.
